One of me is probably needed
To counter balance the number of you

Why are you bothered by me being me?
Why don’t you concentrate on being happy as you?
And let me be happy as me?
If you don’t like me when I am really me
How about you walk right along and find others
Who don’t bother you as much as I do
Save the energy you’re using for changing me
To make a better world for yourself
Let’s make a deal
I will continue letting you be who you are
And you will try to respect who I am
You will let me
Eat my way
Walk my way
Talk my way
Sing my way
Love my way
You will look at
The person inside the clothes
Not the clothes that express my uniqueness
The ideas inside the head
Not the lack of make up on the head’s face
The places these feet have travelled
Not the lack of high heels on said feet
Yeah, let’s make a pact you and I
If we can’t see eye to eye
Let’s not look at each other at all
Let’s walk away from each other
To our separate sunsets
To find others who love us
As we are
To find others we love
As they are

Well, for sure I understand pain and for that reason alone, I can relate. Often, our pain inspires our writing. This post is very personal and sometimes those are the ones that are difficult to share.
